We invite you to explore all the most-places of Istanbul in just half a day! You will visit Hippodrome Square, Hagia Sophia, Suleymaniye Mosque, Basilica Cistern and Grand Bazaar. And also admire the fantastic view of the Bosphorus and the Golden Horn. We will tell you how the city developed, how it was the capital of great empires and what is happening to it today.
What awaits you
Hippodrome Square is a place where spectacular horse races once took place. Today it is one of the main squares of the city. You will see artifacts from different times on it: the Egyptian Obelisk, the Serpentine Column, the German Fountain and the Column of Constantine.
Hagia Sophia - you will visit the majestic 15th century mosque, which was once considered the main temple of the Christian world. We will share its history and decipher the features of architecture.
Basilica Cistern - we will examine from the inside a unique underground structure that provided drinking water to the inhabitants of Constantinople for 1000 years. I will share the sad story of the Gorgon Medusa, who became the symbol of the Cistern.
The Grand Bazaar is the largest market in Istanbul. I will tell you how to bargain properly in Turkey and why the locals are so skilled in this tricky business.
Suleymaniye Mosque - we will visit the magnificent mosque built in honor of the Ottoman Sultan Suleiman. On its territory you will see two tombs: the Sultan himself and his beloved wife Alexandra Anastasia Lisowska.
